To celebrate Miles being 2 months old he got a rotavirus vaccine, which he thankfully got to drink, and 3 shots in the thighs. It was a rough day. Poor Miles cried for about an hour in lab and probably completely disrupted everyone's work day. He slept for a little bit and then cried for an hour for his dad while I went for a walk.
Recently, Miles has really taken to gnawing on his hand and trying to suck his thumb. He does not just do this when he is hungry now but rather it seems to be one of his favorite hobbies, only second to staring at the ceiling fan.
...Did I mention that we sound like morons?
It has been really fun watching Miles' repertoire of expressions grow over the last couple of weeks. Here is a sample of some of our favorites that we were able to catch digitally.
Miles is 6 weeks old today. To celebrate he slept through the night (9:30pm-5:30am), and got another bad breakout of baby acne. Oh well he is still adorable. Now he is passed out on the couch. Don't worry Dad is right next to him so he cannot tip over.
Miles and I went for our first jog together. He managed to not cry, and considering that we were running during his fussy time, this was an accomplishment. Therefore, I am assuming that he enjoyed it.
Drew is already planning to use this quote when Miles is a teenager and acting difficult. It will surely be followed by a "why are you ruining my life!?", or some other similar statement. But for now Miles is a great baby. We adore him. He rarely cries for more than a few seconds to let us know he is hungry, dirty, or wants his pacifier. Also, Miles slept through the night again last night (9:30pm until 6:00am), and for the most part if he wakes up during the night it is around 4am. I do not want to celebrate yet, because I feel like this could fall a part any day (knock on wood). Miles has also just started to smile. I have not caught any of these on camera yet, and they have all been directed at the ceiling fan in the living room (a.k.a Baby God). The smaller fans in the bedrooms do not appear to captivate our little guy in the same way. Some day I hope that Miles looks at us with the same level of adoration and wonderment that is now only reserved for the ceiling fan.
