30 is not so bad
It has been a while since I have updated and a lot has been going on. Since my last post I have been back to Oregon twice. Once because my mom broke her shoulder and arm and a second time just for fun. I have also turned 30, which was less of a deal than I was expecting. I actually quite enjoy being 30. Additionally, Drew's and my wedding plans have been coming along. I have finally committed to a caterer and have gotten all of the rentals secured. Even more importantly my parents have finished the beach house where our wedding is being held. The house is amazing and I cannot wait to get to spend more time there.
Here is where Drew and I will be standing when we say "I do", minus the extension ladder. I am getting really excited. Additionally, we have bought our plane tickets to New Zealand for our honeymoon. We are spending one week in Auckland and one week in Queenstown where we will also go to the Winter Brain Conference and get to ski! Since science brought us together and it is one of the important things we share it seems right that we get to spend a few days doing some science on our honeymoon.
Here is the view of Netarts Bay from the master bedroom. I hope the sunset looks like this on the wedding.
Besides wedding planning Drew and I have been busy practicing and studying to get our private glider pilot licenses and I have been training for the San Diego marathon, which I am running in exactly one week! I am excited and a bit nervous. My goal is to run it in under 4 hours and not throw up. Wish me luck!
