What we have learned this week

Today I learned that babies only have one sinus, which is behind their nose and runs down to their throat. This is why I did not realize that Miles had a sinus infection. Since everything coming out of his nose was clear, I thought he was fine. When his congestion had not cleared up after almost 2 weeks, however, we took him to the doctor. The only way to diagnose a baby sinus infection is to check out the throat. The poor little guy has been in good spirits this whole time even though he was sick and nasty mucus was running down his throat making him cough. What a champ. Now he is on antibiotics to get this cleared up. Like mother, like son I guess.

I have also learned that an empty oatmeal container is one of the best developmental toys ever. In the past few days Miles has leared to use it as a drum and to reach all the way to the bottom to pull out toys.

Miles learned that making noise while a hand taps your mouth is awesome.

Miles has also learned to play the baby piano, intentionally. These are my favorite compositions.

Drew learned that bushwhacking is fun even if it is uphill for 5 miles, and the girls learned that even if they have the run of the house they still want to be on the other side of the gate with their humans.

Here are some other pictures of Miles hanging out in his new playroom. This area used to be our office, which is now in our bedroom.
